I am about a third of the way into the game, even though I have a lot of hours logged already. This is a deck-building combat game that is very similar to Slay the Spire, although this game feels a lot easier. SWQ lacks a lot of the hallmarks of a typical RPG, which makes it a lot easier to play. I am pretty sure it was designed for the Nintendo Switch, because the controls and gameplay are fairly simplistic. This is a chill experience that passes the time quickly. It has some great guitar music, and the sound effects are decent. The best part of SWQ is the hard-drawn graphics and excellent animations. The gameplay is also very intuitive, and it is very enjoyable to play around with the card combinations. The deckbuillding experience is the primary reason to play this game. The narrative is a bit dry, and the pacing of the game is slow.I played this game on an ubuntu linux 18.04 and 19.04 desktop with radeon mesa graphic drivers and an xbox-type gamepad controller. This game can run on very old hardware, with few very minor issues. This game takes up about 800 MBs of diskspace, and it uses a developer-designed game engine. I recommend this game to fans of casual RPG experiences, who are looking for a high-quality indie game, with an innovative deckbuilding game mechanism.. While I hate both JRPGs and Deck-building card games, I've absolutely loved this Deckbuilding JRPG. Seems like it was made for children, but that is certainly not a bad thing at all. The art is beautiful and the game play is simple, but rewarding enough to provide several hours of entertainment. Definitely came across to me as a polished product of high quality!. Okay this is the first review that I have ever left on a game ever, (besides troll ones). This game is beautiful.I have never played any "Steam World" games before, but this one I had to pick up after watching some streams of it.I was scared at first because of the use of cards and deck building, but they do it very well. You have each party member using eight cards that make up a whole deck. These can be played and stylized any way that you please. It's almost like Materia in some kind of way from FF7. You chain card attacks together with team mates, and you can also chain one specific character, if that chain involves only that characters cards. Status effects aren't as mean as they are in other strategy games. This game has wonderful music, fun characters, good dialogue and an interesting enough story.Believe me, I am VERY iffy when it comes to purchasing new games, but this one is a MUST for anyone who loves the final fantasy turn based theme games.. Quite good game but the ending part is so tiring.. A surprisingly pleasant, albeit slightly grindy and minimalistic jRPG.The card mechanic, being a core part of the game, doesn't really add nearly as much to the overall "feel" as you would expect, so it feels more like Battle Chasers than something like Slay the Spire. I get it why people are trying to compare these two games: "Look, both games have cards! And you can upgrade cards!"In reality, though, nothing in this game feels like a puzzle. You don't see enemy's intentions, you don't optimize your turns around the mana that you have, there are barely any interesting interactions between the cards, and most turns are more or less automatic. Numbers are big (and quickly growing with levels), heals are cheap (so it doesn't really matter how much damage you take), and you can just click through battles on autopilot without paying too much attention to what's going on.This being said, it's not necessarily a bad thing. Many games are trying to create the same relaxing experience, and many fail. This one, though, has a very pleasant soundtrack, nice art, non-aggravating controls, and really stable performance even on my old laptop. Special thanks to the programmers for that, it feels very refreshing after all the Unity crap that hiccups all the time while trying to display like 20 sprites on the screen. If you are looking for a game where you replay very similar low-stress battles over and over again, try this one (or Battle Chasers, it feels very similar to this one in a surprising number of ways). If you want a game where card mechanics actually matter, I'd suggest Slay the Spire instead. Not sure if I'll complete this one (grinding for the upgrade components gets very repetitive for my personal taste), but I can't say that I regret buying this game. It's really well-made.. Quite good game but the ending part is so tiring.. Funny, clever, hard and neat.. Image & Form Games did it again. the game is a Diamond...i love it since it released for nintendo and i waited for it to release on pc too. Graphics are colorful and cute, music is what it must be for the game, characters are awesome and very artistic as the other games. i turned on my pc and bough it without second though. 10\/10 for me.. All Steamworld games are worth it, and this game is no a exception. It has touches of JRPG, Slay the spire, Darkest Dungeon... but with a personality of its own. The truth is I liked it more than I expected.Don't stop making Steamworld games! Draw & Win SteamWorld Quest for Steam!: Howdy, everyone!
